My First Exercise of the Year

For the past one year I have been totally unfit. I hardly exercise but I try to walk as much as I could, everyday. Doing lil things in the hope that they would be considered "exercise" so to speak. For someone like me who worries for nothing (as my loved ones put it), gets anxious easily and plans ahead (which means I worry about the future), I need to keep myself busy most of the time as my mind is constantly at work and full of thoughts. I have been told that exercising is one way to keep one's mind at peace....:)

So, we decided to run today. It was a fifteen minute jog to the East Coast beach and back to the apartment. I have never felt that good in the longest time. Therefore, my aim is to run more this year. Let's see what happens!

Another Year Has Gone By..Welcome 2010!

I can't believe how time flies. "Another year has gone by.." And I have not written in ages. The last time I wrote on my blog was all about "Twilight" and "New Moon" was just in the cinemas back in November 2009. Being a Twilight fan, "Twilight" was definitely all about Edward and "New Moon" was all about Jacob. Still a big fan? Oh yes, can't wait for "Eclipse" to be shown in cinemas!

New year resolutions? Well, I have a few on my mind. One of them would be to blog more. I have so many things to write, so many things to share. I just got to make it happen! 2009 was all about recovery..a healing year...a year that put me right back to where I should be. So here I am welcoming the new year with open arms and hopefully with positive thinking. :)

*As my dad always put it, "an idle mind is a devil's playground!"*

Till then, the blog continues with happy thoughts...

It's All About "Twilight"

It has been 3 months since I last written. Nothing major has happened. Just a turn in the way how things should be. Away from all the emotional terror that happened a year ago. Now, is the time to regain one's strength and lead a peaceful life. To release all the emotional baggage and put everything behind..Life would not be for what it is not for its challenges.

I heard about the movie, "Twilight" from my pedicurist who is madly in love with Edward Cullen, the character played by Robert Pattison. She was going on and on about him while she did my nails 3 weeks ago. I told her I do not like gory scenes and I wouldn't watch a vampire movie. She assured me that it's a love story and I should watch it. I didn't think much about it until I got the dvd 2 weeks ago. After watching the movie, my perception changed. I love the movie, I love the dialogue, I love the romantic scenes..everything..I guess I was just reliving my teenage moments...Suddenly, I became a teenager once again. I felt how it was like falling in love again, butterflies in my stomach..etc..you name it. :) I even went overboard by buying the books wanting to know the ending of this story. Now that I have read the sequels, "New Moon", "Eclipse" and "Breaking Dawn", I just can't wait for them to be made into movies. I heard that "New Moon" will be in cinemas at the end of November this year. Can't wait!!!!

I'm just so emotional when it comes to matters of the heart! Aw!...

Which Direction Should Your Head Face While Sleeping?

We are in the midst of moving to a new apartment and currently in a dilemma on where the bed should be. I have always thought that our bed (i.e. head direction) should follow one of our auspicious directions based on our Kua number but apparently not! I have been told recently that our bed should instead face east or south. The reason for this is due to the earth's magnetic force. A scientific approach to choosing sleeping direction!

Therefore, I have decided to do a search on the internet to get a better understanding. Please click the link below for more information=> http://answers.yahoo.com/question/;_ylc=X3oDMTBxcDMxYWk4BF9TAwRzZWMDbWFpbHRvBHNsawNzdWJqZWN0;_ylv=3?qid=20071013133129AAzsdSm

Nokia E71 My New Toy!

I just got myself a Nokia E71. So far, I am very happy with the phone. Love the look and the simplicity of using it. Have always been a Nokia fan. Compared to my old Nokia 7390, I prefer Nokia E71 due to its additional features. I can now check my emails wherever I am and whenever I do not have access to my PC or the internet. How handy! I love the fact that the phone is able to say the caller's name...So cool!.

The only issue I had with the phone was that I was not able to set up my Yahoo Mail. I was a bit disappointed at first and even attempted to return the phone. But I finally managed to find a solution around it. In order to access Yahoo Mail on my phone, I downloaded Yahoo! Go 3.0 at the following website, http://mobile.yahoo.com/go. Voila! Was I pleased? Definitely!:P

My First Kalachakra Grand Ceremony

I attended my first Kalachakra Grand Ceremony on 13 December 2008. Kalachakra means "Wheels of Time". The Kalachakra Grand Ceremony is the 7th of its kind and the first to be held in Singapore. It was previously held in Hong Kong, thereafter USA, Malaysia and the sixth took place in Taiwan.

We came to know about this ceremony through my sister in law who is currently residing in London. She was back for holidays and decided to attend the ceremony in Singapore. It was her 3rd ceremony as she had attended the Malaysia and USA ceremonies. Out of curiosity, we tagged along and according to my parents, it's a very grand ceremony. So why not? I'm always up for anything when it comes to spiritual matter.

At the end of it, I was very happy that we had the opportunity to be there. It was truly an experience for me and Gijs!

For more information about this ceremony, please visit True Buddha School website.

In Search of The Perfect Job...

"Think enthusiastically about everything; but especially about your job. If you do, you'll put a touch of glory in your life. If you love your job with enthusiasm, you'll shake it to pieces. You'll love it into greatness."

Be Who You...

I came across this quote which happens to be profound and direct...Have a blessed week!

"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."

A Blog Posted by Singapore 's Youngest Millionaire

By Adam Khoo In Money
Some of you may already know that I travel around the region pretty frequently, having to visit and conduct seminars at my offices in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Suzhou ( China ). I am in the airport almost every other week so I get to bump into many people who have attended my seminars or have read my books.

Recently, someone came up to me on a plane to KL and looked rather shocked. He asked, 'How come a millionaire like you is travelling economy?' My reply was, 'That's why I am a millionaire.' He still looked pretty confused. This again confirms that greatest lie ever told about wealth (which I wrote about in my latest book 'Secrets of Self Made Millionaires'). Many people have been brainwashed to think that millionaires have to wear Gucci, Hugo Boss, Rolex, and sit on first class in air travel. This is why so many people never become rich because the moment that earn more money, they think that it is only natural that they spend more, putting them back to square one.

The truth is that most self-made millionaires are frugal and only spend on what is necessary and of value. That is why they are able to accumulate and multiply their wealth so much faster. Over the last 7 years, I have saved about 80% of my income while today I save only about 60% (because I have my wife, mother in law, 2 maids, 2 kids, etc. to support). Still, it is way above most people who save 10% of their income (if they are lucky). I refuse to buy a first class ticket or to buy a $300 shirt because I think that it is a complete waste of money. However, I happily pay $1,300 to send my 2-year old daughter to Julia Gabriel Speech and Drama without thinking twice.

When I joined the YEO (Young Entrepreneur's Organization) a few years back (YEO is an exclusive club open to those who are under 40 and make over $1m a year in their own business) I discovered that those who were self-made thought like me. Many of them with net worths well over $5m, travelled economy class and some even drove Toyota 's and Nissans (not Audis, Mercs, BMWs).

I noticed that it was only those who never had to work hard to build their own wealth (there were also a few ministers' and tycoons' sons in the club) who spent like there was no tomorrow. Somehow, when you did not have to build everything from scratch, you do not really value money. This is precisely the reason why a family's wealth (no matter how much) rarely lasts past the third generation. Thank God my rich dad (oh no! I sound like Kiyosaki) foresaw this terrible possibility and refused to give me a cent to start my business.

Then some people ask me, 'What is the point in making so much money if you don't enjoy it?' The thing is that I don't really find happiness in buying branded clothes, jewellery or sitting first class. Even if buying something makes me happy it is only for a while, it does not last. Material happiness never lasts, it just give you a quick fix. After a while you feel lousy again and have to buy the next thing which you think will make you happy. I always think that if you need material things to make you happy, then you live a pretty sad and unfulfilled life.

Instead, what make ME happy is when I see my children laughing and playing and learning so fast. What makes me happy is when I see by companies and trainers reaching more and more people every year in so many more countries. What makes me really happy is when I read all the emails about how my books and seminars have touched and inspired someone's life. What makes me really happy is reading all your wonderful posts about how this BLOG is inspiring you. This happiness makes me feel really good for a long time, much much more than what a Rolex would do for me.

I think the point I want to put across is that happiness must come from doing your life's work (be in teaching, building homes, designing, trading, winning tournaments etc.) and the money that comes is only a by-product. If you hate what you are doing and rely on the money you earn to make you happy by buying stuff, then I think that you are living a life of meaningless.
